4:15 PM - 5:00 PM    Senior Get Fit Class - Senior Get Fit Class-Wednesdays
Senior Get Fit Class (Seniors at all fitness levels. Work at your pace and ability.)This 45 minute class is a combination of low intensity cardio, strength training (light weights), stretching and toning all set to music from the 50's and 60's!This is a great class to add to your current activities and is meant for all Seniors at all fitness levels.  Most of the class is done standing.  There are a few times we sit and work with the weights while sitting in a chair. This is a fun class that will leave you energized and feeling strong!Bring light hand weights and water to each class.There will be a maximum of 16 people for this class.
 
5:30 PM - 6:15 PM    Total Body Pilates - Total Body Pilates
This 45 minute pilates mat class will stretch and strengthen your entire body from head to toe! Learn the 5 basic principles of pilates, create body awareness, improve your posture and be your best self in 2019!  Please bring a yoga mat to class.  All fitness levels are welcomed in this class.  Modifications can be made for most injuries and body challenges.

The League consists of playing friendly pickup games with those in attendance during the evenings. AKC STAR Puppy Class-Saturday mornings beginning 03/02/2019 from 9:30a-10:30a for all mixed and purebred dogs under 1 yr old (if over 1 yr old they can take this class but would not be eligible for the AKC certificate).  This is a beginner class.Practicing the Basics Class- Tuesday evenings beginning 03/05/2019 from 6:00p-7:00p for dogs that have completed a beginner class.Please join Janis Copes from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member.Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended.  Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class.  No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination. Equipment required:  Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats.MAX (4) DOGSALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND CERTIFICATE OF RABIES MUST BE GIVEN TO THE PARK & RECREATION OFFICE BEFORE THE 1ST CLASS.

The Stability Ball is the large exercise ball that you will probably recognize from gym, exercise videos and physical therapy offices.  The Stability Ball can be used in a variety of ways adding resistance, creating instability, supporting the body or providing tactile feedback during your pilates practice.  Besides developing good overall muscle tone for your entire body, the ball provides numerous other benefits such as delivering a powerful work out to improve core stability, posture, and muscle balance.Please bring a yoga mat. This program is designed for the person who is currently competing and wants to do even better at their next competiton. There is one full hour of straight footwork and one full hour of open guided fencing. Serious fencers who are currently competing are encouraged to participate. This program will improve your footwork and better maintain your level of energy while working with your teammates.

This is not a dance class!  No tutus required!Pilates tone/core/barre is a great new class designed to tone your muscles, strengthen your core and work your body at the barre.  This class is 45 minutes. We will work at the barre, move to the mat and incorporate hand weights (your own) into the exercises for an all over strengthen and tone routine.  You will definitely get a great all over body workout as well as some cardio.  Please bring a yoga mat and hand weights to class.

AKC STAR Puppy Class-Saturday mornings beginning 03/02/2019 from 9:30a-10:30a for all mixed and purebred dogs under 1 yr old (if over 1 yr old they can take this class but would not be eligible for the AKC certificate).  This is a beginner class.Practicing the Basics Class- Tuesday evenings beginning 03/05/2019 from 6:00p-7:00p for dogs that have completed a beginner class.Please join Janis Copes from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member.Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Senior Get Fit Class (Seniors at all fitness levels. Work at your pace and ability.)This 45 minute class is a combination of low intensity cardio, strength training (light weights), stretching and toning all set to music from the 50's and 60's!This is a great class to add to your current activities and is meant for all Seniors at all fitness levels.  Most of the class is done standing.  There are a few times we sit and work with the weights while sitting in a chair. AKC STAR Puppy Class-Saturday mornings beginning 03/02/2019 from 9:30a-10:30a for all mixed and purebred dogs under 1 yr old (if over 1 yr old they can take this class but would not be eligible for the AKC certificate).  This is a beginner class.Practicing the Basics Class- Tuesday evenings beginning 03/05/2019 from 6:00p-7:00p for dogs that have completed a beginner class.Please join Janis Copes from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member.Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. AKC STAR Puppy Class-Saturday mornings beginning 03/02/2019 from 9:30a-10:30a for all mixed and purebred dogs under 1 yr old (if over 1 yr old they can take this class but would not be eligible for the AKC certificate).  This is a beginner class.Practicing the Basics Class- Tuesday evenings beginning 03/05/2019 from 6:00p-7:00p for dogs that have completed a beginner class.Please join Janis Copes from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member.Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Participants will learn the basics of tap and ballet. Basics include coordination and creative movements with music. There will be 30 min of tap and 30 min of ballet. If there is enough time at the end of class, children will be given the opportunity to do tumbling on the mats. This is a fun opportunity for children to explore the art of dance.Needed for class: Pink Ballet Shoes (not pointe shoes) and Standard Black Tap Shoes (no heel) No baggy clothing—preferably tights, leotard, jazz pants, etc.Max 12 Students

At this point, coordination is improved and allows for more challenging steps.  This class continues to introduce creative and fun movements using basic dance steps through music.Needed for class: Pink Ballet Shoes (not pointe shoes), Standard Black Tap Shoes (no heel), and Black Jazz Shoes (only for those taking jazz class).  No baggy clothing—preferably tights, leotard, jazz pants, etc.Max 15 Students
