6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Escape The Crate Beginner I Dog Training - Escape the Crate Session Beginner 1 Dog Training Wednesdays
Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate,  LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended.  Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class.  No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination.  Equipment required:  Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats. MAX (4) DOGS ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND CERTIFICATE OF RABIES MUST BE GIVEN TO THE PARK & RECREATION OFFICE BEFORE THE 1ST CLASS.

Escape The Crate Beginner IIPlease join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this 6 week course designed to help you refine the skills you were taught in the Beginner I Class, or equivalent, using force free positive reinforcement techniques. Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond!  Explore planets, moons and other space phenomena in our solar system.  Discover the difficulties of space travel, the challenges of living in space and try assembling a satellite while training to be an astronaut.  Build your own Mad Science rocket and be a part of a launch while we investigate the four forces of flight.  Every student receives a lab coat, goggles, and specialty designed NASA Take Homes to help extend learning at home!

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.

Table Tennis is a fun game, and health enhancing lifetime activity but also a mentally challenging international, Olympic Sport where age, size, strength and gender are less important than skills and strategies learned.By matching up compatible players by skill levels, from novice to intermediate and Nationally rated expert players, and providing informal instruction, players will gain skills, especially spin creation to become better players in a fun informal program conducted by former National Collegiate Finalist and State Men's Champion, Coach Dave Strang.Players need not commit or pre-register each playing date but should arrive and pay at the office within 2 hours after the listed starting time.Rackets are available to borrow, or arrangements and advise to buy them during the club meeting. You must register for each week you want to play.

3:00 PM - 5:30 PM    Kellys Kids Farm Camp After Care - Kelly's Kids Farm After Care Program
Kellys Kids Inc is a celebrated, well established and innovative program developed for all youth.  The NEW After School Program will focus on homework help, physical activities, creative art activities, STEM exploration, food preparation, theater games and farm animal partnerships.  A safe and caring environment open to all Region 16 students ages 5 through 13.The program will be open each school day until 5:30PM. Monday through Friday at  Prospect Parks and Recreation Facility (12 Center St) near the library and the town green.  Fridays will bring the children to the Kelly's Kids "Farm" (18 Spring Rd) to culminate the week of learning. Students will interact with and learn about animals and farm necessities.Students will be transported directly from school to their grade appropriate classrooms for homework and snack time.  There will be staff assigned to each grade level group to guide students in the array of activities in their classroom, the gymnasium, outside play areas and other dedicated spaces.  Within the building there are computer labs, pool tables, art areas and kitchens to enhance learning and fun activities. SENIOR FOCUSED PILATES BARRE (AGES 55 AND OVER) PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS CLASS. This new Senior Focused Barre class  is a step up and more challenging than the former Senior Get Fit class.  The pace is quicker, the music is more modern, and the movements are more deliberate.  Movement is still low impact and light to moderate cardio.We do not sit in this class.  You will be standing at the ballet barres for the 45 minutes.In addition to building strength, this full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility, good posture and toned muscles.During class you will focus on form, posture, stretching, toning, alignment and movement.We will be working our core and performing standing abdominal exercises in addition to upper and lower body exercises.Bring water, hand weights to class.

Barre class is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. Monday through Friday at  Prospect Parks and Recreation Facility (12 Center St) near the library and the town green.  Fridays will bring the children to the Kelly's Kids "Farm" (18 Spring Rd) to culminate the week of learning. This youth and teen fitness program aims to provide today's young athletes with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in any sports setting.  Classes will consist of exercises and drills designed to improve muscular strength and function, speed and agility, and neuromuscular control, as well as reducing the risk of injury both on and off the field.  Athletes who join will not only see an increase in their physical abilities, but also in their abilities to overcome challenges and push past their own limits.
 
4:45 PM - 5:20 PM    Ninja Fit - Ninja Fit
Ninja Fit is a 45-minute class that teaches a unique mix of parkour and gymnastics while focusing on fun and fitness.  Not only will students be learning cool new vaults and tricks each class, but they will also be training their strength, endurance, flexibility, and speed while doing it.  In addition, kids will develop stronger joints and better body control for injury prevention in everyday life.  Each class will begin with stretching and warmups, followed by a fitness focused game and our new skill of the day.  Finally, class will end with students running our ninja obstacle course in order to practice the techniques they had just learned, and most importantly to have fun!

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.

Table Tennis is a fun game, and health enhancing lifetime activity but also a mentally challenging international, Olympic Sport where age, size, strength and gender are less important than skills and strategies learned.By matching up compatible players by skill levels, from novice to intermediate and Nationally rated expert players, and providing informal instruction, players will gain skills, especially spin creation to become better players in a fun informal program conducted by former National Collegiate Finalist and State Men's Champion, Coach Dave Strang.Players need not commit or pre-register each playing date but should arrive and pay at the office within 2 hours after the listed starting time.Rackets are available to borrow, or arrangements and advise to buy them during the club meeting. You must register for each week you want to play.

Monday through Friday at  Prospect Parks and Recreation Facility (12 Center St) near the library and the town green.  Fridays will bring the children to the Kelly's Kids "Farm" (18 Spring Rd) to culminate the week of learning. Students will interact with and learn about animals and farm necessities.Students will be transported directly from school to their grade appropriate classrooms for homework and snack time.  There will be staff assigned to each grade level group to guide students in the array of activities in their classroom, the gymnasium, outside play areas and other dedicated spaces.  Within the building there are computer labs, pool tables, art areas and kitchens to enhance learning and fun activities. This youth and teen fitness program aims to provide today's young athletes with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in any sports setting.  Classes will consist of exercises and drills designed to improve muscular strength and function, speed and agility, and neuromuscular control, as well as reducing the risk of injury both on and off the field.  Athletes who join will not only see an increase in their physical abilities, but also in their abilities to overcome challenges and push past their own limits.

Ninja Fit is a 45-minute class that teaches a unique mix of parkour and gymnastics while focusing on fun and fitness.  Not only will students be learning cool new vaults and tricks each class, but they will also be training their strength, endurance, flexibility, and speed while doing it.  In addition, kids will develop stronger joints and better body control for injury prevention in everyday life.  Each class will begin with stretching and warmups, followed by a fitness focused game and our new skill of the day.  Finally, class will end with students running our ninja obstacle course in order to practice the techniques they had just learned, and most importantly to have fun!

Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate,  LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.

Table Tennis is a fun game, and health enhancing lifetime activity but also a mentally challenging international, Olympic Sport where age, size, strength and gender are less important than skills and strategies learned.By matching up compatible players by skill levels, from novice to intermediate and Nationally rated expert players, and providing informal instruction, players will gain skills, especially spin creation to become better players in a fun informal program conducted by former National Collegiate Finalist and State Men's Champion, Coach Dave Strang.Players need not commit or pre-register each playing date but should arrive and pay at the office within 2 hours after the listed starting time.Rackets are available to borrow, or arrangements and advise to buy them during the club meeting. You must register for each week you want to play.

SENIOR FOCUSED PILATES BARRE (AGES 55 AND OVER) PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS CLASS. This new Senior Focused Barre class  is a step up and more challenging than the former Senior Get Fit class.  The pace is quicker, the music is more modern, and the movements are more deliberate.  Movement is still low impact and light to moderate cardio.We do not sit in this class.  You will be standing at the ballet barres for the 45 minutes.In addition to building strength, this full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility, good posture and toned muscles.During class you will focus on form, posture, stretching, toning, alignment and movement.We will be working our core and performing standing abdominal exercises in addition to upper and lower body exercises.Bring water, hand weights to class.

Kellys Kids Inc is a celebrated, well established and innovative program developed for all youth.  The NEW After School Program will focus on homework help, physical activities, creative art activities, STEM exploration, food preparation, theater games and farm animal partnerships.  A safe and caring environment open to all Region 16 students ages 5 through 13.The program will be open each school day until 5:30PM. Monday through Friday at  Prospect Parks and Recreation Facility (12 Center St) near the library and the town green.  Fridays will bring the children to the Kelly's Kids "Farm" (18 Spring Rd) to culminate the week of learning. Students will interact with and learn about animals and farm necessities.Students will be transported directly from school to their grade appropriate classrooms for homework and snack time.  There will be staff assigned to each grade level group to guide students in the array of activities in their classroom, the gymnasium, outside play areas and other dedicated spaces.  Within the building there are computer labs, pool tables, art areas and kitchens to enhance learning and fun activities. Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate,  LLC for this informative 6 week  course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques.  These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more.  Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended.  Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class.  No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination.  Equipment required:  Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats. Starting Thursday April 25th and running until June 13th your kids will participate in a 8 week introductory program to the game of Volleyball! Here they will learn the basics of the game of volleyball. The boys and girls will learn essential skills, rules, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while most importantly having fun! Please have your child wear comfortable sneakers! Knee pads are optional but not required! If any parents have any knowledge of the game and feel they could be helpful! Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.

SENIOR FOCUSED PILATES BARRE (AGES 55 AND OVER) PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS CLASS. This new Senior Focused Barre class  is a step up and more challenging than the former Senior Get Fit class.  The pace is quicker, the music is more modern, and the movements are more deliberate.  Movement is still low impact and light to moderate cardio.We do not sit in this class.  You will be standing at the ballet barres for the 45 minutes.In addition to building strength, this full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility, good posture and toned muscles.During class you will focus on form, posture, stretching, toning, alignment and movement.We will be working our core and performing standing abdominal exercises in addition to upper and lower body exercises.Bring water, hand weights to class.

Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun filled program.  All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting and serving.  This program is designed for the beginning to intermediate player.

Barre class is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements (think small movements) designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can.In addition to building strength, this full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility, good posture and toned muscles.In this 45-minute class you will focus on form, posture, stretching, toning, alignment and movement.No yoga mat needed. Escape The Crate Beginner IIPlease join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this 6 week course designed to help you refine the skills you were taught in the Beginner I Class, or equivalent, using force free positive reinforcement techniques. Lessons will focus on walking on a loose lead, come, stay, polite greetings and working with distractions and introduction to the AKC Canine Good Citizen curriculum will take your skills to the next level.Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed.  Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended.  Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class by faxing to 203-758-0038 or scan email to prospectrec@yahoo.com.  No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination. Equipment required:  Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats. 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM    Kellys Kids Farm Camp After Care - Kelly's Kids Farm After Care Program
Kellys Kids Inc is a celebrated, well established and innovative program developed for all youth.  The NEW After School Program will focus on homework help, physical activities, creative art activities, STEM exploration, food preparation, theater games and farm animal partnerships.  A safe and caring environment open to all Region 16 students ages 5 through 13.The program will be open each school day until 5:30PM. Monday through Friday at  Prospect Parks and Recreation Facility (12 Center St) near the library and the town green.  Fridays will bring the children to the Kelly's Kids "Farm" (18 Spring Rd) to culminate the week of learning. Students will interact with and learn about animals and farm necessities.Students will be transported directly from school to their grade appropriate classrooms for homework and snack time.  There will be staff assigned to each grade level group to guide students in the array of activities in their classroom, the gymnasium, outside play areas and other dedicated spaces.  Within the building there are computer labs, pool tables, art areas and kitchens to enhance learning and fun activities. Kellys Kids is excited to offer this new opportunity to the parents and students of Region 16 and to join in partnership with Prospect Parks and Recreation to provide a new opportunity for our future community leaders.Children will be able to have time at the Prospect Library!
 
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM    Youth Volleyball Ages 6-9 - Youth Volleyball Ages 6-9
Starting Thursday April 25th and running until June 13th your kids will participate in a 8 week introductory program to the game of Volleyball! Here they will learn the basics of the game of volleyball. The boys and girls will learn essential skills, rules, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while most importantly having fun! Please have your child wear comfortable sneakers! Knee pads are optional but not required! If any parents have any knowledge of the game and feel they could be helpful! 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM    Pickleball: Evening Play - Pickle Ball: Evening Play
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.
